Bichlweg to Berchtesgaden

We have been blessed with another day of the famous Tyrolean sunshine. It was cooler today, I think the Föhn is gone. Frau Balogh says that after the Föhn comes winter weather and I think more snow is forecast for this week. But today was gorgeous. Jim went up to the Stubai Glacier to ski. He said the snow and the terrain were very good it but was terribly windy up there and he quit early. I went for a walk around here, this time WITH the camera. So you can see what it all looks like here. I just walked up our street, Bichlweg, until it intersects with the main road and headed up the hill towards Berchtesgaden. Yes, Oberperfuss has its very own Berchtesgaden! I went there to see the chapel where Frau Balogh painted the Saints on the wall. She also painted a Jesus on the ceiling. Here are some of the photos I took on my walk.

In town, I went to the shoe store and they figured out for me what the problem with my hiking shoes is. My ankle is too narrow for the boot; I need "Fersenkissen." (Ankle-pillows to put in my boots.) They should be easy to obtain in Innsbruck. I want to keep on wandering, the views are magnificent! I think that soon I will want to start driving around to see different sights. Oberperfuss is small and I think I have seen almost all of it already.

Looking down on Oberperfuss. The town church is in yellow; that is Innsbruck in the background.
