The temperature dropped during the night and the rain turned to snow. Yea!!! This is the view out our front door this morning. The Wetter-bericht says that more snow is on the way for this week. I better get my winter hiking boots put in Ordnung!
Today Jim and I drove into Innsbruck, it's very near. We walked around Maria-Theresia Strasse, the main street in the Altstadt. It was very quiet, as most of the Altstadt is a pedestrian zone and most of the stores are closed on Sunday. The architecture on that street is stunning - it is the Street where the nobility had their palaces. Can't wait to show it to you, Chris!! On that street is an old Palace built in 1679 by the Fuggers, later sold to the Count von Thurn und Taxis, that is now a Museum. It is free on Sundays, we were pleased to find out. The exhibits were extremely interesting, not exactly art, well not visual art, it was more conceptual art (I'm SOOO glad I took Modern Art in college otherwise I don't think I'd have a prayer of "getting" it.) It was all about reading the concept of the artist - I enjoy reading German very much so I really got into it. One was an interview of her somewhat bizarre grandmother and some of her grandmother's drawings, and the other was about a strange experiment the artist did by sending strangers strange shirts in the mail without an explanation and then trying to get them together to talk and figure out where the shirts came from and what it was all about.
Hey Barbara, I found a Yoga Studio in Innsbruck! I went to the first class tonight and liked it. It was in English too!!! I think I will make a habit of it - the price is good and I like the teacher. The level I class happens three evenings a week (and one morning, which I obviously won't be going to!) Maybe next time I go, I won't get lost getting there or getting home!
