Matilda und Franz

We have new guests this weekend - our German friends Sybille and Lukas are coming with their two children, Franz and Mathilda. Franz and Mathilda are four and six. Sybille came today with the children, Lukas is coming tomorrow from Munich after work. The children are full of energy! Here they are playing with a German sort of Play-dough. We speak mostly German, although Sybille says they can understand English too. Both of them are American citizens, having been born in the US while Lukas was doing a surgical residency in Boston. Lukas' family are friends with my aunt in Berlin and Lukas and I got to know each other when he came to Boston as a transplant surgeon. Sybille came to be with him later so we got to know her too. She is a Neurologist. The children are very cute and of course very lively. Jim played a German-English card game with them and read them Curious George in English, which they enjoyed. Now we are trying to get them to go to bed but they seem to be having a lot of fun racing around in their pajamas instead of staying in bed.
